I grew up in martial arts and left later in life to join the military. When I got a chance to finally take on a JET tasking, I got to fight hand to hand with other branches and learn from their combative instructors. You'd be surprised at how well thousand-year-old arts translate to having a gun on you or on your person and still function as intended.
